"I love painting, particularly painting people. I believe that my art should inspire and encourage while reflecting positive aspects of the human spirit."
Andy is a local Tasmanian. Born in Hobart in 1957 and spending his formative years in Fern Tree, he developed an early interest in art and painting. This was put aside, however, in his teenage years when motorbikes and girls took over.
More recently, he returned to his roots and began painting again. Initially painting for family and friends, Andy is now spreading his creative wings much further ~ with his love of life reflected in his current body of work.
Andy is a gardener in the real world and spends most of his day outdoors mowing lawns and trimming hedges. Life is a balance of physical work followed by evenings full of creativity.
His major influence is Paul Gauguin. "It is the eye of ignorance that assigns a fixed and unchangeable colour to every object; beware of this stumbling block.” ~Paul Gauguin~
